The HARPO Foundation Emerging Artist Fellowship Residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute is a prestigious award established in 2013 to provide an emerging visual artist with strong artistic ability and an evolving practice, the space and time to explore ideas and start new projects in a residency context at a pivotal moment in their professional development.

With the passing of Harpo Foundation’s founding artist and benefactor, Ed Levine, in January 2020, the Foundation’s staff and board regretfully announce that the Emerging Artist Fellowship program will be suspended indefinitely to provide necessary time and space to plan for and reaffirm the foundation’s programs and purpose.

It has been an honor to support the talented artists who received a Harpo fellowship since 2013, and we have enjoyed a great partnership with the Santa Fe Art Institute, whose staff always took the utmost care to ensure the program’s success.

Through this period of transition, Harpo Foundation will continue making direct grants to visual artists and project grants to non-profits organizations. For more information about its grantmaking, visit www.harpofoundation.org.
