Thanks to generous support from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, SFAi is proud to offer the Creative Access Fellowship—supporting artists with spinal cord injuries through our International Thematic Residency Program. Up to four (4) artists will be awarded 4 week residencies, each receiving a $1,000 stipend, an additional room for a personal care assistant (PCA), and a $1,000 travel stipend for the PCA, if needed.
Please note: For the 2026–27 residency cycles, Creative Access Fellows will be selected through a closed nomination process to participate in one year of a two-year, access-informed residency pilot to be announced in late 2025 or early 2026. This pilot will expand upon the traditional Creative Access Fellowship model, offering increased support and resources for artists with spinal cord injuries. Co-designed by participating artists, the pilot will establish a lived-experience-informed framework for accessible and inclusive artist residencies.
