Parisa Ghaderi

Parisa Ghaderi (b.1983, Tehran, Iran) is an artist, curator, educator, and filmmaker. She has earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Art & Architecture University in Tehran, Iran (2006), and received her first Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from Tarbiat Modares in Tehran, Iran (2009), and her second Master of Fine Arts in Art & Design from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan (2014). Ghaderi has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in prestigious venues such as The Craft & Folk Art Museum (CAFAM), Los Angeles, CA, Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum, Milwaukee, WI, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids, MI, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit, Boise State University, ID, Shirin Gallery (NY), A.I.R Gallery (NY),, the 6th International Media Arts Award (Queensland, Australia), the Red Bull House of Art (Detroit, MI), and Muracentoventidue, Italy, among many more. Her work is featured in The Huffington Post, The Brooklyn Rail, Video Focus (France), Nineteen Sixty Nine (University of California, Berkeley), the Michigan Daily, the Visual ARTBEAT Magazine (Austria), and Best Of International Emerging Artist Award, (Dubai). Her films: “Still”, “Broken Glass”, “The ones who loved me are gone”, and “One way” have been screened in New York, Paris, Santa Monica, Ireland, Indonesia, Australia, La Jolla, Brazil, Detroit, and Berlin, and have won multiple awards such as the International Award of Merit Winners (“Still”), the winner of The Berlin Flash Film Festival, and One Minute Film Festival, Brazil (“The ones who loved me are gone”), and the Award of Merit form Impact Docs (“One Way”).
