Valentine Cadieux
Valentine Cadieux is an artist and geographer who teaches community agri-food systems and environmental and climate justice at Hamline University and with the Twin Cities Community Agricultural Land Trust and Commons Land initiatives. Valentine focuses on repair of land relationships, and is the current director of Hamline’s Center for Justice and Law’s Environmental Justice and the Law program, rebuilding infrastructure for environmental relationships when they have been displaced and disrupted. Valentine and the Center have been co-hosting a community learning series on equitable farmland tenure. Over the past decade, Valentine’s projects around reparation ecologies have spanned classroom and community learning projects (including the collaborative glossary zine on Urban Food Cultivation), large-scale public art, participatory action research, and chaplaincy practice, focused on supporting sharing stories and actions of relationship with land.
