Val Chang

Val Tien-Shin Chang

Val was born in Monterey Park, California (East Los Angeles) to parents who immigrated from the island Taiwan. Val is an environmental geographer, with a background in civil engineering and hydrology, working to understand climate change impacts to our relationships to land using socio-environmental analysis and art. They work with video-projection and musical composition techniques, as well as tools like machine learning and satellite-imagery to build scientifically-grounded artistic representations of our future environments.
