Azure D. Arther

Azure Arther is no stranger to adversity, which has fueled her passion for frank and descriptive writing. She is obsessed with words and has found that her passions are evenly distributed between creating, teaching, and reading books with her son. Azure’s works have appeared in nearly two dozen publications, including a winning story in Writers of the Future, vol. 38. She was also a 2023 Marble House artist and was a finalist in the Tennessee Williams and New Orleans one act play competition. About her work, Azure states, “My writing speaks about what it is to be a woman, what motherhood looks like, what travel looks like, what existing in this space feels like. It is raw and honest, and as writing often is, from a deeply personal space. My plays point out that we are people, that women, especially BIPOC women, are not their statistics, are not their stereotypes, are not just another sad story, but a truth.” Azure’s website is azurearther.com.
