Alumna Linda Dittmar at SFAI

Tracing Homelands: Israel, Palestine, and the Claims of Belonging

Reserve your FREE ticket here!

SFAI alumna Dr. Linda Dittmar (Truth & Reconciliation thematic residency, 2018/2019) returns to Santa Fe with her long-awaited memoir completed. Beginning with her 1939 birth in British Mandated Palestine, Linda will take us on a journey through the creation of the modern State of Israel, the various partitions of Palestine, growing up Israeli, and much more. Linda’s talk will be moderated by SFAI Development and Communications Director Kenney Elkomous, a Middle Eastern person of Egyptian background.

The talk will be followed by Open Studios, featuring SFAI’s 2024 Sovereignty artists-in-residence.

We realize that matters pertaining to Israel and Palestine evoke strong emotions. With that said, we ask that you attend this event in the spirit in which it is intended: critical inquiry into ideas and actions that lead to peace and justice, and the honoring of an SFAI alumna.
