Facility & Rental

SFAI’s distinctive, award-winning facility is a nearly 17,000 square foot complex designed by renowned Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta. Our facilities include 12 private living quarters, 12 semi-private work studios, gallery, library, communal kitchen and dining room, and a beautiful interior courtyard.

Accessibility

SFAI’s facility meets all ADA requirements. Because SFAI is one level without stairs or barriers, there is complete accessibility to all studios, living quarters, exhibition and event spaces, and our offices. SFAI also has two resident rooms each equipped with a roll-in bathroom designed specifically for easy wheelchair access, enlarged living space, and an additional bed for a personal care attendant.

 


Equipment & Support Staff

SFAI offers chairs and tables for basic setup needs. We have up to 140 chairs and 11 six person tables for use. We also offer a projector, 3 microphones, and a sound system available for your use. Any A/V or tech needs should be organized on-site with SFAI staff. Staff time for basic setup and breakdown, including use of our technical equipment, is included in the event rental fee.

However, A/V or any other technical  staff support beyond standard setup/breakdown, or requiring staff presence during the event, is not included in the fee.

Additional setup/ breakdown, A/V and Tech Staff Support can be arranged at $50 per hour. All support services must be requested upon scheduling your event. Last minute requests may not be able to be accommodated.
