SWAIA & SFAI Residency Fellowship


SFAI seeks applications for the Southwestern Association of Indian Arts (SWAIA) Fellowship. This 7-week residency at SFAI is from August 5-September 28, 2015 and includes lodging, studio space, and basic foods, a $2000 monetary award, and a complimentary booth at the 2015 Santa Fe Indian Market. All artists with US or Canadian Tribal affiliation are eligible to apply. Applications are due by May 29 and are available here.


Residency Fellowships are creative opportunities for Native artists to engage with Indian Market, the culture of Santa Fe, and vibrant Residency Program at the Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI). The Fellowship allows artists time and space for creative exploration, and encourages preparation and professional development leading up to 2015 Indian market.

Residents will share, interact, and exchange ideas within a communal living and studio spaces at the world renowned SFAI in Santa Fe, NM with artists and writers from around the world.

SWAIA Residency Fellows will be afforded every resource provided by SFAI during the 7 week residency. Artists chosen for the fellowship will participate in all public programming and SFAI events during the duration of the residency.

Residency Fellows will receive a 7 week Artist Residency at SFAI from August 5-September 28, 2015. Award includes lodging, studio space,basic foods and a  $2000 monetary award. Visual artists who meet the SWAIA guidelines will receive a complimentary booth at the 2015 Santa Fe Indian Market.
