Aristotle Georgiades holds an BFA degree from the University of Michigan and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mr. Georgiades is a former member of the United Steel Workers Union, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and The International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He is currently a Professor of Art/Sculpture at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
He is a sculptor who produces individual studio works as well as a partner in the collaborative public art team Actual Size Artworks. Actual Size has done more than thirty large scale permanent public art projects nationwide as well as many long-term temporary projects. His studio work ranges from issues of male identity, labor economics, and more recently, the changing American landscape in a post-industrial economy. Individually Georgiades has been exhibiting his sculptural works nationally for many years and is represented by Carl Hammer Gallery in Chicago. He has also produced projects for the Chicago Park District and the University of Minnesota Arboretum in Minneapolis Minnesota.
