Join us for two events at SFAI for the Community of Practice in partnership with SciArt Santa Fe.

Sequoias, native to California, can live for over 3200 years and grow to over 90 meters tall.  As the largest trees in the world their seeds and seedlings have been planted around the globe, including in Santa Fe, with little regard to the appropriates of the climate and their surroundings.  However, in their native habitat, sequoias are suffering; 13-19 percent of all trees in California perished during unprecedented wildfires in 2020 and 2021.  Four years later a multitude of seedlings have germinated.  How can the awesome trees in Santa Fe serve as sentinels, inspiring a commitment to these seedlings and concern for a future we will not live to see?
