Join us for an evening of readings and conversation with SFAI Community of Practice resident artists Zeyn Joukhadar and Cedric Tai. Zeyn will read from his essay “An Incomplete History of Trans Immortality” in the Both/And anthology, edited by Denne Michele Norris of Electric Literature. The essay explores art, faith, and history as pathways toward imagining a livable trans future amid the realities of loss, resilience, and transformation.

Following the reading, Zeyn will be joined by Cedric Tai, an un-disciplinary artist and educator whose work investigates neurodivergent experience, labor, and collective care through sculpture, writing, and performance. Together, they will discuss queer and trans futurism, the intersections of identity and creative practice, and the role of art in shaping spaces of belonging and possibility. This event offers a rare opportunity to engage deeply with two artists whose work challenges boundaries and reimagines what it means to live and create with authenticity and hope.
