The Mythohistorical Preservation Society is Josh Rios and Deanna Ledezma.
Deanna Ledezma is a Ph.D. candidate in Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Ledezma’s recent appointments include, the Inter-University Program for Latino Research Mellon Fellowship and the Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois Fellowship. Ledezma’s research interests include the history and theory of photography, material culture studies, and ethnicity and race in the United States with a focus on the materiality of photography and the re-photographing of photographic arrangements. Some awards members have received include: the 3Arts Make a Wave Grant, the Propeller Fund, Curatorial Fellowships at Vox Populi and ACRE, the Chancellor’s Graduate Research Award, and Artist in Residencies at Three Walls, Harold Washington College, and Sector 2337.
Josh Rios is faculty at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University, where he teaches courses in visual and critical studies, political science fiction, cultural production along the U.S.-Mexico border, and imaginative archival practices. As a media artist and cultural critic, his projects deal with the intersection of globalization, modernity, postmodernity, and neocoloniality.
