Lindsey Scherloum

Lindsey Peck Scherloum is an artist based in North Braddock, PA who works in sculpture, photography installation and performance to provoke narratives around ordinary objects, environments and experiences as a means to connect her audiences across identity. She holds a BA in art and anthropology from NYU’s Gallatin School of Interdisciplinary Study, and an MFA in creative writing from Chatham University. Her work has been shown in Pittsburgh area galleries including the MINE Factory, Most Wanted Fine Art, Unsmoked Systems Artspace, and at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, and published in Hot Metal Bridge, Universal Design, Fiber Art Now, and Weave magazine.
She has taught writing, sculpture, installation, and visual storytelling at Carnegie Museum of Art, the Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Allegheny County Jail and SCI Pittsburgh through the Words Without Walls program, and Ekialo Kiona Community Center on Mangano Island, Kenya. At Carnegie Museum of Natural History she uses her creative practice to inform learning research around communicating topics like climate change and race and is part of the Watershed Arts Collaborative. She is currently resident artist in the public realm with United Somali Bantu of Greater Pittsburgh, a residency through the Pittsburgh O.ce of Public Art, Welcome Pittsburgh and the Mayor’s O.ce.
