Kate Aitchison

Kate Aitchison is an artist focused in print media whose work focuses on the intersection between the man-made and the organic, especially in relation to water. Dams and highly engineered pipeline systems morph natural landscapes in ways that allow water to flow in every direction, no longer following natural paths. Kate graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with her MFA in 2016 and is currently exploring the possibilities of papermaking in conjunction with printmaking courtesy of several grants including a RISD graduate studies grant and a Rhode Island State Council for the Arts grant to explore the viability of invasive plant species as paper fiber.
