Jon Bateman

Jon Bateman has spent most his career working as a communications manager and community developer in the private, public and non-profit sectors. He is also the Past President of the Calgary Sledge Hockey Association and a former board member with Accessible Housing in Calgary.

Jon holds a Master’s degree in Community & Economic Development from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Applied Communications degree and Social Work diploma from Mount Royal University. He was born in High River, Alberta with a congenital birth defect known as Spina Bifida and brings a perspective of lived experience as a person with a life-long physical disability. Jon’s writing has appeared in Abilities Magazine, Life In Action Magazine and The Huffington Post.
