Caitlin Shepherd
Caitlin Shepherd is an award winning artist, recently shortlisted to be artist in residence at Tate St Ives. Graduating from London University of the Arts in 2006, she has gone onto win a range of awards, participate in international residencies and manage range of creative projects. Caitlin is particularly interested in using immersive installation and narrative experience design to explore issues and ideas surrounding social justice. Her work is strongly informed by social realism and social documentary. She works across mediums, but at the moment is very interested in sound and site specific installation. Most of her works exist outside of the gallery and the White Cube, and is situated in public space, or temporary site specific installations, often working with communities to co design appropriate public art processes / works. Caitlin also likes to play, and encourages general silliness, disobedience and idiocy. She has won a range of awards, residencies, and exhibited her work at a range of galleries, events and site specific locations. You can follow her musings on her random interest blog,Tumbled Dreams.
