Andromachi Papaioannou

Andromachi is a Social Anthropologist, working mainly with migrants and refugees, using storytelling as a means of expression. She has lived and worked in various countries and at the moment is based in Athens, Greece. She holds a BA in Political Science, a MA in Social Anthropology, and a PhD in International Cooperation and Sustainable Development Policies, with a focus on Anthropology and Migration. Since 2010, she has been working on migration issues and most specifically on second generation issues both as a researcher and a social activist. She was involved with Generation 2.0 RED –being a co-founder of the NGO- and has a long experience in migration policies, legislation, consultancy, cultural mediation and advocacy. In May 2016 she joined UNHCR and started working closely with refugees. Andromachi is using storytelling to connect with people, while travelling around the world for personal or other projects. Her artistic background in dance, aerial acrobatics and performing along with her passion for photography and drawing add up to the means she uses to create the necessary space for expression while working with either children or adults.
