RE:IMAGINE Central Santa Fe by attending a pop-up previtalization of the Saint Michael’s Corridor!
The Saint Michael’s Drive Corridor is the heart of central Santa Fe and the intersection point for all four of Santa Fe’s city council districts. It’s a vital area anchored by the Santa Fe University of Art & Design/Santa Fe Art Institute and the CHRISTUS Saint Vincent Regional Medical Center. In between are important neighborhoods, dozens of crucial businesses and great community organizations.
The RE:MIKE event is a continuation of existing and previous efforts to encourage residents, citizens, business owners, students, commuters and everyone who has a stake in the area to lend their voices to its future.
RE:MIKE takes place at Saint Michael’s Village West Shopping Center, with projects emanating onto the campus at SFUAD, SFAI, and throughout the Corridor area and the Rail Trail.
Join SFAI, along with artists Edie Tsong and Eric Garduño in a community art event to collectively draw the path of the buried Arroyo de los Pinos which runs under the St. Michael’s Village West parking lot! Using chalk, we will walk the path of the arroyo, leaving a faint chalk line to mark our routes. As the lines build up, we will have a beautiful image of the arroyo to remind us of this hidden ecosystem and watershed in our very own neighborhood. The drawing will take place throughout the RE:MIKE festivities on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday.
