Driving from Albuquerque to Santa Fe

When exiting the Albuquerque International Sunport, follow signs to I-25 North. Santa Fe is approximately 60 miles north of Albuquerque. As you approach Santa Fe you will want to take the second exit, St. Francis Drive, which will also be posted as Highway 285. Veer to the left after taking the St. Francis Drive exit and continue north on St. Francis approximately one mile until a right-hand exit for St. Michael's Drive. At the bottom of the exit ramp, you will turn left on St. Michael's and continue approximately two miles, past Llano Road, until you see the gates for the College of Santa Fe on your left. Turn in here and follow signs for the Santa Fe Art Institute.To reach the complex, you will drive straight (veering slightly around the roundabout) to the end of the road. The Santa Fe Art Institute will be on your left at the end. Turn left at the end and proceed about 50 yards to the main entrance. Welcome!


Transportation to Santa Fe

AIR
Albuquerque International Sunport 505 842-4366 is the major airport connection for Santa Fe. Just an hour's drive from Santa Fe, it is serviced by 10 major airlines. Sandia Shuttle provides transportation to Santa Fe. Taxi service and rental cars are also available. Santa Fe Municipal Airport 505 995-4708/473-7243 on Airport Road has several daily flights to and from Denver and Dallas on smaller aircrafts. Roadrunner Shuttle 505 424-3367 offers transportation into town and several car rental agencies are also available.

BUS
Greyhound and TNM&O coaches stop at the Santa Fe Bus Station, located at 858 St. Michael's Drive 505 471-0008. With advance notice, SFAI staff can make arrangements to meet you at the bus station.

TRAIN
Amtrak's Southwest Chief 800 872-7245 stops daily at Lamy, about 18 miles south of Santa Fe. The Lamy Shuttle 500 982-8829 takes passengers to hotels and rental car agencies in town.


Transportation within Santa Fe

BUS Santa Fe Trails 505 438-1464 has 11 routes on which buses run from 6am to 9:30pm, Monday-Friday, and from 8am to 8pm, Saturday; no service on Sundays, Christmas or Thanksgiving. The Institute can provide you with a bus schedule upon request.
